The Deadmines is kind of a mixed bag, because nearly every Alliance character goes through there. You get bad PuGs, you get good PuGs, and you get those in between.

This one was fricking awesome :D

I got invited just as I was turning in a quest for the followup that wants VanCleef's head, group already consisted of 19 Priest and 20 Pala. Invited 30 Pala and 18 Mage, went to summon, then 30 Pala said he had to leave and left. Invited 22 Shaman instead.

We did something that I've never done in a PuG before - instead of going the straightforward route to the instance portal, we went round the fiddly bits - and killed a rare for our troubles.

Inside the instance, we had some excellent healing, the tank was pulling everything but he was doing so on purpose and knew how to handle it, we didn't need any CC at all. At times the Priest was slightly impatient but not 'OMG we have to do this now' impatient, more like 'I'm ready to move on now' impatient, but it didn't matter because it wasn't a problem.

Even nicer, the two enchanters (Mage and Shammy) gave free enchants to us - I only got one, but it was still worth it - +1 Agility on bracers.

Inside the foundry, I gathered three of the materials to make a Small Seaforium Charge, one of the group supplied a piece of light leather to complete it, and so we got into the ship cave without drawing extra mobs.

Smite? We took his adds down and then took him out with the trash. We were that awesome.

We did take Cookie on before going up onto the ship, to try and get the Mage the wand drop, but the mace dropped, it may have gotten disenchanted.

Greenskin? Okay, we did accidentally pull him off the ship onto the side platforms, but what the heck - we took him out with the trash too, got the Mage the staff he'd asked for at the beginning, if it dropped, and it did.

VanCleef? Oh yeah. Do I need to say again? We owned him. Big time.

It must have been my lucky day - besides the Agility on the drops from VanCleef, Smite, and the awesomeness of the Buzzer Blade, there was a random enchant boot drop - with Agility on it.

What makes it even better? One of the rewards to the VanCleef's head quest is a leather chest... WITH 11 AGILITY ON IT.

Excuse me while I drool all over again.

They say all gear is hunter gear. That definitely applied here. ^.^

In other news, handing in that quest got me a ding to 23, and I now have the chain into the Stockade.

Oh, and SKILL STATUS:
Engineering: 102/150

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:

Exploration: Explore Westfall
WoW Classic Instances: Deadmines

Why can't all groups be like this?
