Late Update

This is an update report for yesterday, because I forgot. I have now completed the following zones (these are my made up Achivement names, BTW):

The Azuremyst Shuffle
Boiling Bloodmyst
Tel-done-sil
El-win Forest
North by Westfall
Done Morogh
Lost in the Loch
The Dark Shore
Running Redridge
Stalling in Stonetalon
Ashes to Ashenvale
Down in Duskwood
Witless in Wetlands (although this is actually a guild here on AD)

After the 6hour sleep from exalted with Darnassus, my copper money came through from the AH, so I went and bought training from the Exodar and a nice Striped Nightsaber mount from Darnassus. Then I went to Duskwood - during the questing there I got exalted with Stormwind, so I went and bought myself a horse and downloaded a mount macro. Afterwards, I went to Wetlands, did all the quests there, and as a bonus improved my cooking and first aid some.

Somebody Likes Me

Stonetalon, done and dusted. Ashenvale, done and dusted (apart from the Raene's Cleansing chain which I'll leave till 80 just for continual use of the wand). Still waiting on the money to roll in so I can train for my mount... but at the moment...

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
Professions, First Aid: Expert in First Aid
Reputation: Somebody Likes Me (Raise a Rep to Exalted)

REPUTATION GAINS:
Darnassus +Exalted

So this means that when I do train for my mount I can have a nice big cat instead of a HUGE Elekk. So worth being up until the ungodly hours of the morning.

Moving on to Duskwood tomorrow where I hope to raise Stormwind exalted too.

It's All About the Money

I'm stuck at this awful point where I can't continue questing (because I need two elixirs for a vital quest in Stonetalon, and the price of them on the AH is more than I have got) or really moving about (because I need the money for a mount). So really I'm stuck until my copper bars on the AH are bought out, because I just haven't got enough money to continue.

NINJA EDIT: Ok, I really should have looked before I posted - since I last looked there's been an influx of the elixirs cheap, so whereas before it would have cost me 8G for both elixirs, I now have 6 for less than a gold. How's that?

Liberating Gnomeregan (Attempt 2): PuG Report #5

Group Composition:

Me (Lv 29 Hunter, dinged during the instance)
Lv 27 Rogue (dinged during the instance)
Lv 31 Druid (disconnected during the instance)
Lv 27 Druid
Lv 32 Pala

Roles:
Tank: Lv 31 Druid/Lv 32 Pala
Healer: Lv 27 Druid
DPS: Everyone else
CC: None used

Loot:
Grubbis: A Greenie [32 Pala]
Viscous Fallout: Acidic Walkers [27 Rogue]
Electrocutioner 6000: Electrocutioner's Lagnut [27 Druid]
(forgot the name of this boss): Manual Crowd Pummeler [32 Pala]
Mekgineer Thermaplugg: Charged Gear of Strength [Who knows]

Deaths: 0
Wipes: 0

It didn't take long for this group to take shape, unlike the other one. The entire group was assembled at the meeting stone at 12:50. We went down, killed Techbot, got punch cards, etc, with one Druid tanking and the other healing. We entered the instance at 1:00.

Grubbis, no problem at all.

Down in the dormitory, we considered going to the escort quest, but now the trouble started happening (although it didn't last); the Pala didn't want to do it, slightly impatient, and our tank disconnected. It didn't stop the pala - he proceeded to grind through every mob on the room's floor, including the boss, instead of waiting for the tank to come back. This was at about 1:30.

Moving on, we had no problems with alarms (where were they? I seem to remember a lot more of them being about), I saw that Blizz still haven't fixed the mob routing problem in the Electrocutioner's chamber, and we just plowed through everything. By now, the pala was starting to get a little weird - I assumed he was Ret specced, by the way he topped the damage meter and was personally enjoying it, and he asked to need on some cloth shoulders 'because they looked cool'.

Still.

At 2:06, we kicked the tank, who still hadn't come back.

After Thermaplugg, we offered to stay in to help the healer finish collecting essential artificials, but she declined, thanked us, and left. The rogue helped me get my last artificial, and I thanked them and left.

Now comes the interesting part.

On the flight from Lakeshire (where my HS was set) to IF to hand in some quests, I got whispered with the offer of a boost in SM, by a Lv 73 DK. Ok, I accepted it, got summoned up there after handing in quests.

After a while, things became clear to me. The DK, while also bossy, was also quite mad. I mean, you'd have to be... to pull the entire chapel of SM Cathedral and survive. No offense to the DK in question meant.

We did all four instances, ARM and GY only once each, LIB and CATH several times over, during which I dinged -twice- before we finished up, and I, at level 32, had to run all the way from the Scarlet Monastery, Tirisfal Glades, to Southshore, Hillsbrad Foothills, because my HS was on cooldown.

So now I've really got to concentrate on the money side of things - I'm at Level 32 and I have no mount, and about 7 gold after the hunter training.

I did do some skill ups, but I haven't recorded them.

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
Exploration: Explore Redridge Mountains
General: Level 30
Dungeons & Raids: Gnomeregan
Dungeons & Raids: Scarlet Monastery

Also, I'm finished in Redridge, and it's time to move to some more mountains - Stonetalon.

Liberating Gnomeregan (Attempt 1): PuG Report #4

Group Composition:

Me (Lv 28 Hunter)
Lv 30 Warlock
Lv 27 Paladin
Lv 28 Warlock
Lv 31 Paladin

Roles:
Tank: Undecided
Healer: Undecided
DPS: Practically everyone
CC: None

Loot: None

Deaths: 0
Wipes: 0

After collecting the quests and sitting in IF playing with my new Crashin' Thrashin' Robot, I got invited by the 30 Lock to a group. I should have seen a disaster coming when the 31 paladin was invited and then left, but I didn't. I did see it when we invited the 27 paladin and he demanded a summon.

Eventually I got to the meeting stone, having overtaken the 30 warlock on the way, and it suddenly became clear to me that we were going to have problems. Not only did the warlock go all over the place looking for the meeting stone, he didn't initiate any summons at first... and then tried to summon the 31 pala, by this time reinvited, who had already been summoned.

So we went down, killed Techbot and got his brain, got punch cards, and went into the instance. By this time, the paladins were arguing - both wanted to tank and neither wanted to heal. The 31 went AFK, the 27 left.

Five minutes later, by the time the 31 pala sat down and actually became in-game afk, we were still waiting.

A short time after, he yelled at us. 'FIND A HEALER'. So I went onto LFG and asked for a healer to Gnomer. And by now we were wasting the 28 lock's time, and I thought so too, to be honest. So we left. Just outside the instance I met the 30 lock again and he tried to invite me again, but I declined, and a few seconds later hearthed.

Oh well...

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:

Feats of Strength: Crashin' Thrashin' Racer

Down in the Deeps (Attempt 1): Pug Report #3

Group Composition:

Myself, Lv 28 Hunter
Lv 22 Warrior
Lv 22 Rogue
Lv 21 Warrior
Lv 21 Druid

Roles:
TANK: Lv 22/Lv 21 Warrior
HEALER: Lv 21 Druid
DPS: Everyone else
CC: None used

Loot:
Ghamoo-ra: Ghamoo-ra's Bind [Druid I think]

Deaths: 0
Wipes: 0

What can I say about this dungeon? Well, nobody wants to do it, for a start. I spent 45 mins in LFG waiting for a group, with only an offer to run RFK and an offer from a 71, offering his/her alt if they didn't get a group for wherever they were trying to go.

When the leader (22 Warr) arrived, he overshot the meeting stone, even though I was sitting on top of it. This was a bad sign.

When we got down there, something became painfully clear: the 22 Warr could not hold his aggro. Even before the instance portal he was arguing with the other warrior (who was better at holding aggro) that he was the tank, and constantly running past a mob, aggroing it, to pull a mob behind it.

After taking down Ghamoo-ra, I pointed the way to the next boss. I assume what happened next was that the 22 Warr overpulled, getting aggro on everybody in the group, leading to the deaths of the rogue and the druid. The 22 Warr, after waiting a while for the corpseruns, left, group leadership passing to the druid.

The other warrior was undeterred - there was a paladin in LFG, she said, get him to DPS and she can tank. That was when the druid left, and the paladin disappeared from LFG.

From there we collapsed.

In total I spent 20 mins in BFD, 45 mins waiting beforehand. For one boss.

After another half-hour waiting, I gave up and went to collect some quests for something slightly different...

Oh No You Don't

One PVP match today and a bit of waiting for a dungeon run that never came.

Logged in near Silverwing place - remembered that I wanted the PVP bow and went in. Got in to WSG, it had already started, we were outnumbered 10 to 7 but there were no caps yet. However, both flags had been taken and were sitting in the other team's bases.

After hanging around a bit, I went out there, to the Lumber Mill. The only person there was the flag carrier - on the roof. So I went up, attacked him, took me a while but I managed to return the flag for a cap.

We were still outnumbered by this point. I don't think we ever had a full raid.

After I rescued our flag from them for a cap again, I went out to try and get it myself this time. I told the battleground at large that there were two locks and a pally inside, a mage was there with me, and he just said 'let's try it'. We went in along the top, the pally noticed us first, but with the Mage pulling off a Frost Nova and me distracting them, the Mage managed to grab the flag and was off with it. I died (of course) but by then it was too late for them to do anything about it.

Then I decided 'I can wait ten levels', completed a quest at Northshire Abbey, then went and sat at the meeting stone to Blackfathom Deeps for a good 40 mins, in the LFG channel. I did get invited by a 22 rogue at one point, but he disbanded the group (which was just the two of us) a few seconds later, and going back into LFG I noticed my option was set to Stockades. >.>

But no, I could find no group - and I don't know when BFD drops off the LFG list, so I want to be able to do it now.

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
PVP, Warsong Gulch: Not In My House (kill 2 flag carriers before they leave the flag room in a single battle)

I'm Capping Here, Who's With Me?

Just one PVP match today so far, WSG again. I thought something would bug up when I logged on, seeing as I disconnected INSIDE WSG, but it dumped me back at the Silverwing place. Great. So I went in again. It had already started, but there were no caps, and it was a pretty even fight.

Well, when I say even... I mean by numbers of players.

Shortly after I got in, the Horde flag was taken - by a lv 24 Druid. When they got back to our base, our flag had been taken too, but they went back out again, hunted down the flag, and killed the carrier, then capped it.

By this time I'd snuck into the Lumber Mill, so was waiting when the flag respawned - Aspect of Cheetah, straight out the tunnel, and the only Horde I saw was an Undead that was too far behind me to cause any trouble. Straight up our tunnel and two achievments.

When the flags respawned, the Druid was there AGAIN, and capped it. AGAIN.

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
PVP, Warsong Gulch: Capture the Flag (personally cap flag)
PVP, Warsong Gulch: Quick Cap (capture under 90 seconds)

Whoo. And I've got my eyes on the bow from the WSG Quartermaster: 30 Marks and 3 hundred and something honour. The honour's well on its way, and I have 7 marks, so a minimum of 7 games, if we win all of them, maximum of 23, if we lose all. But we're not that bad.

Not So Fast

Little here and there of PVP; not much happened. Finally got into AB... was something like 9 of them against 6 of us and the battleground closed due to lack of players. Then, after ages of queueing, went into WSG. Long story short, they capped it once, then I disconnected whilst attacking a belf pally. I did get an achievement though.

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
PVP, Warsong Gulch: Not So Fast (kill a player with speed powerup)

Attack and Defend

Oh, man. Two PVP opportunities. Two battlegrounds. Two teams.

TWO VICTORIES.

AB first off the bat (after replenishing arrows). Got in, we started, I capped the Lumber Mill, by which point everyone was headed to the farm, which we claimed, and proceeded to win 5 bases to 0.

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
PVP: Know Thy Enemy
PVP, Arathi Basin: Arathi Basin Victory
PVP, Arathi Basin: Let's Get This Done (Win in 6 minutes)

After that, went into WSG, expecting a mess like last time. But no. Not only did we manage to cap three times, they capped 0, AND we managed to return a flag that was practically inside the Warsong Lumber Mill. Again, I played defense - at the beginning, with the help of the buffs that had been provided in AB and hadn't ran out.

Also, while our flag was in their hands, I spotted a humanoid hiding behind some trees near our graveyard. What a surprise it was when I found their flag carrier. I wasn't able to kill him (he did it to me) but I was able to alert the team to where he was.

Amazingly, there were very few attempts on our base - they were playing defensive.

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
PVP, Warsong Gulch: Warsong Gulch Victory
PVP, Warsong Gulch: Warsong Gulch Perfection

Because these two matches were practically adjacent in time, a lot of the people were the same - including one Orc Hunter from Argent Dawn who'd been in the team that flattened me last time, who was in both AB and WSG.

But in any case, all of you who were in there with me, from Battlegroup Bloodlust, you were awesome. I thank you all.

Frenzied Defender

Managed to get in some PVP today. First got into Arathi Basin, as it started; there wasn't enough people to fill the battleground and the horde completely mullered us. So I left before it finished and logged off.

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
PVP: An Honourable Kill

Then I logged on later, went straight to Warsong Gulch this time; the match had already started. After going out there once and getting smashed into the ground, I decided to stay on defense. Our team makeup wasn't that good either - we did have a couple level 30s (how?) but then again we had a couple of level 20s as well. Both paladins.

Anyway, returned the flag a few times (5, to be exact) and then the horde team was comprised of mostly twinked up priests (shielding themselves all the time) and hunters (flatten you in a few shots). The score was 2-all, their flag was at our base, our flag at theirs, and while their flag carrier sat up there all safe and comfortable, the rest of their team swamped our base. Oh well.

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
PVP, Warsong Gulch: Frenzied Defender

Was hoping to get Not In My House, but you can't have everything. Apparently the ramp just inside the flag room doesn't count as 'the flag room'.

Would try for it again tomorrow morning but there's scheduled maintenance.

PVP-d Off

It's annoying, really.

Dinged 28 whilst killing Orcs in Redridge, so ok, went and trained, then put myself in the BG queues for Warsong Gulch and Arathi Basin. This was at around 25 past 11. At midnight (at the time of writing this) I logged off without so much as a peep from the queues.

But anyway.

No WOW today, for a few reasons, but mainly because my prepaid time has been used up and I need to resend all of the billing information again (!). So nothing special.

However, the bug with the comments not showing up appears to have been fixed.

Reclaiming the Stockade: PuG Report #2

Group composition:

Myself, Lv 25 Hunter (dinged 26 during the instance and 27 shortly after)
Lv 22 Hunter (dinged 23 after the instance)
Lv 24 Paladin (dropped out shortly before second boss)

TANK: Lv 27 Warrior
HEALER: Lv 24 Paladin first, then none

Loot:
One rare fist weapon dropped, not sure where it went. Other than that, no drops.

Deaths: 2
Wipes: Nearly 2

Stockade... everyone Alliance can get to it pretty easily, so like DM, it's a mixed bag. This one, unlike the DM group featured in the previous PuG Report, was... adequate. Where some members lacked other members exceled.

How did it start? In the LFG channel. A hunter with a nearly-full group had been asking for a healer for some time, and eventually in Lakeshire I got invited. The Paladin, originally signed on as DPS, had to heal (the pala and the warrior had a small argument about this). Other hunter was there already, Warrior and I flew there to summon. Rogue dinged and went to train before we summoned, and then we did summon, shared quests around and went in.

Ok - the tank and the healer went in. The rest of us were confused for a moment as to where they'd gone.

There was nothing major happening until halfway down the eastern wing, where we went first; this is where the Paladin left us, with no healer. From here the group sort of went downhill; pulling Bazil Thredd pulled all of the mobs in the side wings, which we didn't clear - we killed Thredd and wiped, besides the rogue, who avoided it. Corpse run, no fancy loot, just his quest item.

To the other side - pretty much the same. The mage joined us around now, and according to the Warrior (and it looked like it to me too) started ninjapulling some. Went into Dextren's Hall, mage pulled (pulling the adjacent wings too), we killed Dextren, in the process the Warrior feared all the mobs that were swarming us.

The Warrior and the Rogue died. The Mage ran for the exit. I was left with the other hunter, who we warned not to loot - but he did. Nothing but his quest item.

By now, of course, the mage had either made it out or died (can't remember which) and so all the mobs which were follwing him came back. And killed us.

We went back, got our quest items. Mage left without a word, warrior shortly after we got one final bandana for the other hunter.

According to the rogue, it was the 'most pathetic group in days'. Mostly for the fact that we didn't have a healer.

BUT, and this is a big BUT. With the instance over, I found myself on the Lescovar Incident Chain (the one from the letter in DM) along with the other hunter. So we did all that chain quests together - earning a LOT of exp. Teaming up, we beat down Lescovar and his friend (after narrowly killing Lescovar I had to step in to rescue the other hunter), ran around SW some more, and finished the chain at Varian (whom the other hunter was surprised to see, as he didn't know he was back).

During this I made an assumption to myself - the rogue (who was still in the group) knows the other hunter, and I made this for the fact that the rogue stated that he would be on Yahoo to talk to him later.

And the best part? When we finished the chain (making me ding for the second time), both us hunters added each other to our friends lists.

Every cloud has a silver lining. Must be alarming for high-flying gryphons, but oh well. Apologies for the bad joke.

EDIT: Rouge?? Splelling, please.

The Dark Shore

...is done, out of the way, yadda. Apart from an escort quest into Ashenvale that I attempted and failed because the guy got killed >.< In other news, more flightpaths, more achievements, and ZOMG more skills. Spent a good 20 mins fishing off Astranaar, and I only know this because I got through 2 and a bit lures. It didn't seem like it took that long.

Work, work and work again

There's a meat vendor in Darnassus. Who'da thunk it?

A lot done. Darkshore is my current focus: All of the top half is done. Athalaxx, Cliffspring River, Bashal Aran, done. Ameth'Aran, done.

Well, almost - the Ruins of Mathystra are one place I have yet to visit.

Also, there appears to be a missing quest - the one which sends you to the crystal on the mountains between Darkshore & Felwood. This may be the one that chains up to Mathystra, don't know yet.

It has also been brought to my attention that the comments on this blog are not working properly. I was contacted to say a comment was left but no comment appears to have been left. So anyone who's reading, stand by, I'll see if that's a fixable bug.

Told you it wouldn't be the last time. :P

I now have the skill enough to learn up to 225 Engineering, but leaving that 'till I get everything to 150.

Nearly finished Dun Morogh; I've been following a levelling guide for the circuits, and it now tells me to hand in a quest... which I haven't got. (I only have 1 quest in the log, and it's the Stockade chain quest.) Looks like I'll have to find it next time.

Westfall done and dusted besides one quest and one quest chain.

Quest: The quest for I think it's the Thunderbrew Lager Keg. I know I'll have to do this later for a quest elsewhere, but I couldn't be bothered to grind for the hops and then go all the way up there.

Quest Chain: Captain Sanders' treasure. I was hoping the item would drop from the murlocs, but it didn't.

Killed 2 rares today, Brack (Murloc) and some Lieutenant Gnoll. The latter of which happened accidentally when I accidentally pulled an entire camp of Gnolls.

Lv 18 Mage
Lv 20 Paladin
Lv 30 Paladin (Dropped out before instance started)
Lv 22 Shaman (Replacement for said Paladin)

Roles:
TANK: Lv 20 Paladin
HEALER: Lv 19 Priest/Lv 22 Shaman
DPS: Lv 28 Mage, Lv 22 Hunter, Lv 22 Shaman
CC: No CC was used or indeed needed during the run.

Loot:

Sneed's Shredder: Gold-flecked Gloves [either Priest or Disenchanted]
Sneed: Buzzer Blade [Me]
Gilnid: Smelting Pants [Can't remember where they went]
Mr Smite: Thief's Blade [Me]
Cookie: Cookie's Tenderizer [Possibly Disenchanted]
Captain Greenskin: Emberstone Staff [Mage]
Edwin VanCleef: Cape of the Brotherhood [Me]

Deaths: 0
Wipes: 0

The Deadmines is kind of a mixed bag, because nearly every Alliance character goes through there. You get bad PuGs, you get good PuGs, and you get those in between.

This one was fricking awesome :D

I got invited just as I was turning in a quest for the followup that wants VanCleef's head, group already consisted of 19 Priest and 20 Pala. Invited 30 Pala and 18 Mage, went to summon, then 30 Pala said he had to leave and left. Invited 22 Shaman instead.

We did something that I've never done in a PuG before - instead of going the straightforward route to the instance portal, we went round the fiddly bits - and killed a rare for our troubles.

Inside the instance, we had some excellent healing, the tank was pulling everything but he was doing so on purpose and knew how to handle it, we didn't need any CC at all. At times the Priest was slightly impatient but not 'OMG we have to do this now' impatient, more like 'I'm ready to move on now' impatient, but it didn't matter because it wasn't a problem.

Even nicer, the two enchanters (Mage and Shammy) gave free enchants to us - I only got one, but it was still worth it - +1 Agility on bracers.

Inside the foundry, I gathered three of the materials to make a Small Seaforium Charge, one of the group supplied a piece of light leather to complete it, and so we got into the ship cave without drawing extra mobs.

Smite? We took his adds down and then took him out with the trash. We were that awesome.

We did take Cookie on before going up onto the ship, to try and get the Mage the wand drop, but the mace dropped, it may have gotten disenchanted.

Greenskin? Okay, we did accidentally pull him off the ship onto the side platforms, but what the heck - we took him out with the trash too, got the Mage the staff he'd asked for at the beginning, if it dropped, and it did.

VanCleef? Oh yeah. Do I need to say again? We owned him. Big time.

It must have been my lucky day - besides the Agility on the drops from VanCleef, Smite, and the awesomeness of the Buzzer Blade, there was a random enchant boot drop - with Agility on it.

What makes it even better? One of the rewards to the VanCleef's head quest is a leather chest... WITH 11 AGILITY ON IT.

Excuse me while I drool all over again.

They say all gear is hunter gear. That definitely applied here. ^.^

In other news, handing in that quest got me a ding to 23, and I now have the chain into the Stockade.

Oh, and SKILL STATUS:
Engineering: 102/150

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:

Exploration: Explore Westfall
WoW Classic Instances: Deadmines

Why can't all groups be like this?

Shooting the Messenger

Can't find him, although that's to be expected. I'll have to stake out the path.

But anywho. Not much done now, 'cept some killing of Defias peoples and the returning of Baros Alexston's compass. Have to come off for dinner. Expect a PuG Report later.

Also, had a tinker around with my settings. Increasing the general settings to fair is a no go - down from averaging 29FPS to 5FPS. Increasing settings in general - I found that my computer can actually handle it decently. It doesn't like the canals of Stormwind, but I don't plan to be there that often.

Catching Up

Currently in preparation for the Deadmines. I have the quest from the Gnome in Stormwind, the chain from Sentinel Hill, and another one from SH from which a DM quest is a followup.

In other news, did Elwynn Forest and finished it.

No point in doing the skill statuses, because they haven't changed; however:

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
Exploration: Explore Elywnn Forest

NEW FLIGHT PATHS:
Sentinel Hill, Westfall: SNH
Darkshire, Duskwood: DRK
Lakeshire, Redridge Mountains: LKS

Logged out in the Dwarven District of Stormwind.

Interesting Fact: At the low levels, the low level quests seem to take forever... at level 21 they take no time at all.

Still. Deadmines soon. Be ready for the first PuG Report!

High Achiever

"All hail Aidava, saviour of Azuremyst and Bloodmyst. Hero of the Hand of Argus, champion of the draenei people!" - Exarch Admetius

I'm DONE in Bloodmyst. Also Teldrassil too but I'll get to that. My first time having my name yelled across a zone (doubtless it won't be the last), and I got a tabard for my troubles. Afterwards I did up my professions, got them up to scratch, then went down to the Exodar, thus to Auberdine and Teldrassil.

And I did the Teldrassil quests as well.

Well, there may be one or two at the starting area, and one person who wants me to go to Astranaar, but I didn't take those. I did all the quests I could find, though.

Then it was back to Auberdine, more fishing, and thence to Stormwind City. Here I wandered around, did some engineering, made myself some goggles (by the Naaru, they're ugly) and then went down to Goldshire, to prepare for the Elwynn Forest quests. As I expected, there was TONS of RP going on in Goldshire, but having nothing to say and shortly logging off I didn't do any.

SKILL STATUS:
Mining: 92/150 ON TO STAGE 2
Engineering: 101/150 ON TO STAGE 2
Fishing: 99/150 ON TO STAGE 2
Cooking: 107/150 ON TO STAGE 2
First Aid: 108/150 ON TO STAGE 2

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
Exploration: Explore Bloodmyst Isle
Exploration: Explore Teldrassil
General: Represent
First Aid: Journeyman in First Aid
Fishing: 25 Fish
Fishing: 50 Fish
Fishing: 100 Fish
Fishing: Journeyman Fisherman

There must be something bugged with the fishing, because I only have 99 skill, starting at 1 - that makes for 98 fish caught, and then at least two weren't fish (I fished up a diary page - in a lake on Bloodmyst). Odd.

Also had my second random guild invite, although this one was a charter and not an actual invite. Declined it anyway.

Why am I doing the starter area quests? Quite simple - Loremaster achievements and reputation. I'm currently honoured with the whole Alliance besides Exodar, with whom I'm revered. Obviously after doing the Teldrassil quests I'm more of the way towards revered with Darnassus, but there you go.

Fear teh dragon slayer

Yes, I slayed a dragon. I have soloed an elite. Gief epix now plox.

A lot going on now - I FINALLY have some armour that isn't green, my professions are really making headway, and I'm almost done with Bloodmyst! :o Level 20 abound, new skills, and a pet talent point. (Was wondering when they'd show up.)

SKILL STATUS:
Mining: 88/150 <- Completed First Stage
Engineering: 87/150 <- Completed First Stage
Fishing: 22/75
Cooking: 75/150 <- Completed First Stage
First Aid: 69/75

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
General: Level 20
Professions: Journeyman Cook

Something interesting happened at about half past ten. The lights flickered, and shortly afterwards I experienced a disconnect, which I assumed to be some sort of power blip in the router. After a few moments of panicking it reconnected and everything was just great.

Power surge?

Also, about yesterday's QQ: I apologise, Blizz. You've made up for it. Was killing Bloodcursed Voyagers earlier, and the [Bloodcursed Soul]s didn't seem to drop as much, and there weren't that many spawned, either. So I dived further down, with Track Undead on.

THE AMOUNT OF DOTS ON THE MINIMAP. BY THE NAARU. There must've been about 20 of them all clustered together!

Late Night Work

More stuff done, yadda yadda. Gear changes (all of the leather from Bloodmyst is GREEN with a capital everything), quests completed.

SKILL STATUS:
Mining: 77/150 <-Completed First Stage
Engineering: 64/75
Fishing: 22/75
Cooking: 66/75
First Aid: 59/75

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
Quests: 100 Quests Completed

QQ of the night: When I was doing it with Chesha, there were Royal Blue Flutterers everywhere. Were there now? Of course not. It took me ten minutes to find three, and of course when I moved to a different spot for the last one I found three all together >.<

What happened to the spawn rate?

An Audience with the Prophet

Again, not much going on - apart from some mysterious buff benefactors that I never got to thank. Dinged 16 just now, and advanced my professions some too.

Oddly enough there was a mob that I knew existed (because I've killed him before) but didn't spawn while I was there. Odd.

I also discovered upon the wonder of a new target macro:

/target
/cast Hunter's Mark(Rank 1)

Not only does it target the mob, but also slaps a Mark on it so I can see it on the minimap.

EDIT A MONTH LATER: With the added bonus that if there aren't any around, it will go for a dead target. Argh.

SKILL STATUS:
Mining: 71/150 or thereabouts
Engineering: 60/75 or thereabouts
Fishing: 22/75
Cooking: 57/75 or thereabouts
First Aid: 59/75 or thereabouts

I haven't done any fishing in a while, but that can wait until I've completed the quests in Bloodmyst and I don't have to worry about bag space.

All that glitters...

Okay, so maybe gold does glitter a lot ^^ got a nice amount from copper bars selling on the AH (On BDF they'd go for something like 1G a stack? On AD they go for 5-6G a stack).

Done some more quests in Bloodmyst, but other than that not much to report.

Need more bag space!

SKILL STATUS:
Mining: 68/150
Engineering: 59/75
Fishing: 22/75
Cooking: 54/75
First Aid: 15/75

It's interesting to note that now my cooking skill is higher than Chesha's when she dinged 70.

On the Storm Front

Not an update post; will edit this into one later. It looks like I'm going to be spending a lot more time on Aidava now; Chesha's guild on BDF is collapsing and I've decided to lay low for a bit and see what happens.

EDIT

Ok, up to about halfway through Level 12. New stuff?

Completed all the quests in Azuremyst Isle, and done 1 from Bloodmyst (Good old Kessel Run). Bumped into the Blood Elf Bandit (or whatever he's called) and killed him, didn't drop the bandit mask :( but I got the quest item and turned it in.

SKILL STATUS:
Mining: 58/150 or thereabouts
Engineering: 57/75 or thereabouts
Fishing: 22/75
Cooking: 44/75 or thereabouts
First Aid: 9/75 (All the cloth is currently going to Engineering.)

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
Exploration: Explore Azuremyst Isle

Logged out in Blood Watch.

The Azuremyst Shuffle

Okay, went on again.

Ding Level 10! :D

There were some more people out and about, which means that the maximum number of people I've seen in the same place (besides in the Exodar) is 2.

Done the majority of the Azuremyst quests now; turning in the penultimate hunter training quest was my 50th, actually, so that's a new achievement.

SKILL STATUS:
Mining: 57/150 or thereabouts
Engineering: 53/75
Fishing: 22/75
Cooking: 27/75 or thereabouts
First Aid: 9/75 >.>

NEW ACHIEVEMENTS:
General: Level 10
General: Can I Keep Him?
Quests: 50 Quests Completed
Professions: Professional Journeyman (in Mining)
((Feats of Strength: WoW 4th Anniversary))
((Feats of Strength: Collector's Edition Frost Wyrm))

Currently logged in the Exodar, halfway between the Engineering Trainer and the Anvils. Still slightly peeved about lack of low-level cooking recipes.

Skilling Up

Okay, so I've dropped the roleplay posts, since I've realized how impossible it is to keep up with them; since I'm practically being forced to condense several days of in-game time into the space of a few hours. Having made up the fact that Auberdine and the Ruins of Mathystra, both Darkshore, are 1 day apart from each other, it kind of falls apart when the journey in-game is done in about two minutes.

Level 7 up, found the cooking trainer (can't believe I forgot about Cookie... gah!) and levelled fishing, too. Also, the drop rate on the Root Trapper Vines wasn't as bad as I remember. While fishing, I fished up my first chest... inside was a grey foot leather piece... and it was better than my current ones >.>;

Already having bag space issues. With my backpack having to hold my fishing pole, mining pick, food, drink, hearthstone, as well as bandages and obligatory quest items, it and the 4-slotter we get in the starter area can't really keep up. Going to have to buy some bags ASAP.

On the tracking status: I feel I only really need to have track beasts/humanoids/whatever on if I'm looking for one in particular. Other than that I'm staying on Find Minerals.

SKILL STATUS:
Mining: 1/75
Engineering: 1/75
Fishing: 22/75
Cooking: 21/75
First Aid: 7/75 (or something like that)

Interesting point: Fishing at Ammen Ford, I caught one fish type only, Slitherskin Mackerel I believe. Guess who sells the cooking recipe?

Alliance vendors for the recipe are in Ironforge, Westfall, and Teldrassil.

Does anyone else see the problem here?

The Hunt is On

Ok, she's started. There weren't many people about – but then again it was coming up to midnight ST, so I'm not surprised. I did see some other characters – the first one was a Warrior, one level lower than me, who waved at me. I waved back, and he made a rude gesture at me. Whether this was because I was a Hunter or some other bizarre reason, I know not. I made it out through Ammen Vale, learnt all the tradeskills I could (Fishing, Engineering, Mining, First Aid) and levelled Fishing to 11.

Where is the cooking trainer?

Before the Hunt

Hello.

First things first, this is a World of Warcraft blog, so if you don't like that, this isn't for you.

Now that's settled, let's get down to business. Those of you who know me already on World of Warcraft know me as either Chesha, Draenei Shaman, or Xavrington, Human Death Knight on the realm EU Bronze Dragonflight. This blog, however, is not about them. It's about my upcoming alt, the Draenei Hunter Aidava, on EU Argent Dawn.

Why a Draenei, like Chesha? The Azuremyst and Bloodmyst Isle quest chains are much better than all of the Vanilla WoW starter areas, IMO.

Why a Hunter? My first serious character (who, incidentally, didn't get as far as level 40) was a hunter, and I genuinely enjoy playing the class.

One of this blog's primary purposes is to record anything Aidava encounters along the way, be it griefers (Hunters are generally seen as the easiest class to play in WoW and therefore attracts a lot of idiots), bad or good PuGs, and any other experiences in-game. Each post will also be accompanied by an RP post, just to sharpen my RP skills, as I'm rolling on an RP server.

And I'm not going unprepared, either. I'm going in with a Talent Build worked out, with a list of Hunter gear, and a levelling guide. I know what professions I will take (Mining & Engineering) and how to play the class and play it decently.

I'll see you all later... when the hunt begins.
